General summary

This is a licensed professional position accountable for advising patients, physicians, and other health practitioners on the selection, dosages, interactions, and side effects of medications.  Monitors the health and progress of patients.  Accountable for interpreting rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and related pharmaceutical standards of service; reviewing and auditing complex drug claims; conducting field investigations of pharmaceutical practices and procedures; conducting utilization evaluations; and investigating pricing procedures.  May supervise pharmacy technicians.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of professional principles and practices of pharmaceutics.  Ability to make a detailed analysis and recommend a course of action.

Typical qualifications

Licensure and 1-4 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
