General summary

This is a professional educator position accountable for overseeing educational programs in state facilities, and exercising decision making authority related to planning, development, and presentation of the programs. Employees at this level manage the program budget; establish and monitor goals and objectives based on set standards and procedures; submit reports related to education outcomes; make adjustments in long-range plans for facility goals; plan for better use of materials and resources to include examination materials; and analyze, evaluate, and make determinations according to guidelines and regulations set forth by agency management, laws, and regulations. Employee supervision includes hiring recommendations, training oversight, performance assessment, coaching, and disciplinary recommendations.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels:  Knowledge in planning and coordinating an educational services program. Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, certification, and 3 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
