Land Surveyor

General summary

Land Surveyor positions are professionals accountable for data collection, data analysis (such as spatial data), quantity estimating, and the compilation of data for legal documents. Incumbents create basic to moderately complex maps and prepare map exhibits. Surveying work conducted at this level is well defined with templates, precedents, and models. Assigned work is performed under the direction of a higher-level professional individual contributor and/or supervisor. May supervise, provide guidance, and mentor lower-level individual contributors.

Typical qualifications

Licensed as a Land Surveyor.
