General summary

This is a senior-level budget position within an agency that is accountable for analyzing legislation, governing policy, administrative rules, fiscal policy actions, and performance standards.  At this level, employees review fiscal impact statements for legislative concepts and proposed legislation to identify needed changes and develop recommendations. Employees also assist or develop proposals for a program area(s), or for an agency.    

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and of legislative processes. Skill in analyzing financial data and providing recommendations. Ability to relate budget and program analysis to agency goals and objectives. Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
