General summary

This is a position accountable for completing basic audit functions (review, planning, research, data analysis, documenting) involving routine processes or documents to assist in the completion of a portion of an audit. Employees may also perform audits narrow in scope, from beginning to end, under close supervision and guidance.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of public administration and governmental fiscal practices. Knowledge of auditing/accounting software packages. Ability to analyze program operations. Ability to travel, operate a motor vehicle, and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
