Developmental Disability Service Associate

General summary

First-level professional position accountable for such functions as application processing, assessment of ability, eligibility determination, support plan development, and advocacy. Work is performed in direct contact with individuals with disabilities, their families, and guardians.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, guidelines, and other binding authorities regarding service eligibility. Knowledge of assessment techniques and processes. Knowledge of the requirements associated with support plan development and monitoring. Skill in assisting individuals, families, and guardians to access supports through the organization and in the community. Ability to read and comprehend medical, psychological, and psychoeducational material necessary to determine eligibility and need for support.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
