General summary

This is a second-level legal support position accountable for performing legal research and drafting legal instruments and correspondence under the general direction of an attorney. An employee in this position is accountable for researching legal issues, investigating facts, and assisting attorneys in drafting and filing legal documents, and pursuing legal matters. May supervise lower level staff.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Ability to conduct investigations and legal research. Ability to summarize testimony and facts and draft legal instruments and correspondence.

Typical qualifications

Associate degree, 1-3 years of experience, and a paralegal certification; or 5 or more years of experience in a legal environment. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
