This is a first-level professional position accountable for researching and providing collection related expertise for programs in an area of specialization. At this level, an employee is responsible for performing original research and providing professional advice and assistance to colleagues and the general public pertaining to cultural resource management procedures and issues, collections, exhibitions, preservation issues, and museum facilities.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of research methods associated with historical or natural history investigation. Knowledge of the techniques used in the restoration and preservation of museum artifacts, art objects, and natural history specimens. Ability to care for and maintain art work, artifacts, and natural history exhibits.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
