Senior Park/Historic Site Specialist

General summary

This is a second-level professional position accountable for planning, coordinating, and implementing programs related to state parks or historic sites, or planning and directing natural or cultural history interpretation, resource management, and research in an assigned state park or historic site. May also assist in planning and directing the overall operation and maintenance of a state park or historic site facility offering a variety of services which may include campgrounds, lodging, marinas, stores, trails, special ecological management areas, historic structures, or non-structural cultural remnants.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

In addition to those identified in the previous levels: Knowledge of the administration of a state park or historic site. Ability to oversee a variety of services. Ability to develop budget and project recommendations. Ability to mentor and coach staff.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
