Veterans Cemetery Director

General summary

This job is responsible for planning and directing the administrative and burial operations for a state veterans’ cemetery. Accountable for directing the general operations activities, managing the cemetery budget, and planning and coordinating arrangements for interments and other services.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Knowledge of veterans’ burial benefits. Knowledge of principles of fiscal control and procurement. Knowledge of state/federal laws and rules/regulations governing the operation of a veteran’s cemetery. Ability to advise veterans’ survivors of benefits in a caring and compassionate manner.

Typical qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of related experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
