This is a first-level professional position accountable for regulatory auditing or financial analysis work. Employees in this class review and audit utility financial data in order to make recommendations to the Missouri Public Service Commission regarding utility revenue requirements in general rate proceedings. Work also involves analysis and evaluation of management controls, financial data, standard production rates, cost allocations, depreciation issues, fiscal procedures, spending priorities, and the promotion of efficient and economical utilization of resources. Employees also assist in research and analysis of the financial aspects of public utility operations.
Knowledge of accounting and auditing practices and procedures. Knowledge of trends and practices in utility financing, operations, and regulations. Ability to generate data requests and analyze information according to accounting standards. Ability to utilize interviewing techniques and solicit pertinent information at various organizational levels. Ability to travel as required for agency business.
Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
